Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest: Prediction, kick-off time, team news, TV, live stream, h2h results, odds today

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest in the Premier League today - (ES Composite)

Arsenal return to Premier League action this afternoon as they host Nottingham Forest in the first game back after the international break.

The Gunners lost to title rivals Liverpool last time out, so will be keen to get back on the winning trail to avoid falling further behind the reigning champions, even at this early stage of the season.

Arsenal had taken maximum points from their opening two fixtures - including a 5-0 home win over Leeds - prior to the Anfield trip and start the weekend in third place.

There will be a familiar face opposing Mikel Arteta in the Emirates Stadium dugout with Ange Postecoglou replacing Nuno Espirito Santo as Forest’s head coach earlier in the week.

Postecoglou is back in management after leaving Tottenham at the end of last season and it’s his connection to Spurs that should see him receive a not-so pleasant reception from the home faithful.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest is scheduled for a 12.30pm BST kick-off today, on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

The match will take place at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest team news

Arsenal could hand a full debut to £67.5million summer signing Eberechi Eze after he came off the bench in the second half against Liverpool before the international break.

The attacking midfielder is an option to replace Gabriel Martinelli on the left-hand side of the attack given the Brazilian’s struggles at the start of the season.

Having scored a hat-trick for Spain, Mikel Merino has staked his claim to retain a starting berth ahead of captain Martin Odegaard, though the Norwegian was also amongst the goals during the break and could return to the line-up.

Ben White is expected to return from injury, Christian Norgaard and William Saliba could be available for selection, Piero Hincapie is in contention for an Arsenal debut but Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are all set to miss out.

As for Forest, Oleksandr Zinchenko is ineligible to face his parent club after joining on loan on transfer Deadline Day. His absence poses a selection issue for Postecoglou with Ola Aina sidelined.

The right-back lasted just 10 minutes of Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with South Africa because of a hamstring injury and has been ruled out for a period of time, the club announced on Friday.

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest prediction

The appointment of Postecoglou does change things for Arsenal, and most likely in a positive way. The Gunners will have been expecting to come up against a low block with Nuno Espirito Santo in charge.

As we know too well from Postecoglou’s time at Tottenham, he wants his teams to play on the front foot and with a high line. This approach should play into Arsenal’s hands and if they’re clinical enough, the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Eze and Noni Madueke have an opportunity to fill their boots.

Arsenal to win, 4-0.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Arsenal are unbeaten against Forest in the last four meetings between the two sides, winning the corresponding fixture last season - also taking place after an international break - 3-0 thanks to goals from Saka, Thomas Partey and Ethan Nwaneri.
