Arsenal transfer rumours: Mesut Ozil exit, double loan deals agreed, Martinez to Schalke

Mikel Arteta has been slowly rebuilding his Arsenal side this summer but knows more must be done before the transfer window slams shut.

The Gunners added the FA Community Shield to their FA Cup win earlier this summer but have to improve on eighth in the Premier League last season.

Recruiting new talent is key to Arsenal's success this upcoming season and there has been speculation aplenty about what the Gunners might do next.

Mikel Arteta confident Aubameyang will sign again with Arsenal

Here is the latest transfer rumours round-up on Arsenal.

Ozil could still leave

Mesut Ozil has endured a torrid time at Arsenal in recent months after he was shunned by Mikel Arteta.

Ever since Ozil declined a pay cut, he has been on the sidelines and surplus to requirements again at the Emirates.

He plans on staying in London but that hasn't stopped clubs in Saudi Arabia and Qatar expressing interest in signing the 31-year-old, according to The Telegraph.

Loan agreements

Arsenal have dealt Leeds United a transfer blow by deciding to send Rob Holding on loan to Newcastle United.

Leeds had shown interest in the 24-year-old defender but the Gunners see Newcastle as a better fit.

The deal will be completed this week, according to talkSPORT.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are close to completing another loan deal for Dani Ceballos after the Real Madrid midfielder enjoyed a stay at the Gunners last season.

The 24-year-old is poised to sign another season-long agreement, according to The Guardian.

Ceballos himself hinted that a move was close after posting a picture of a clock on his Instagram account.

Martinez courting interest in Germany

Emiliano Martinez has been linked with a move to Bundesliga side Schalke.

There have been mixed reports on the future of the goalkeeper.

Some suggest he is staying put while others have gone as far to say that Mikel Arteta has confirmed he will only be classed as his number two this season.

Sky Sports, meanwhile, say both Schalke and Aston Villa want to sign the 27-year-old.
