Arsenal transfer news: Mykhaylo Mudryk talks continue as Edu sent new Alexis Mac Allister update

Your morning Arsenal transfer round-up on Friday, December 30.

Shakhtar Donetsk chief reveals new Arsenal talks for Mykhaylo Mudryk transfer

Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Sergei Palkin has revealed that fresh talks are now live between his club and Arsenal over a transfer for winger Mykhaylo Mudryk. football.london understands the Gunners tabled an opening bid worth up to £55million on Boxing Day, but it was rejected.

With news that the bid has since been rejected, it was unclear how quick negotiations would be reopened to try and sort a new bid out. It appears as though that hasn't taken long though, with discussions reopening on Thursday morning.

That's because Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Sergei Palkin told club media: "Now, literally in five minutes, I will have a phone conversation with Arsenal. We are open to negotiations, ready to exchange ideas and figures. If we will agree, then let it be so.”

It remains to be seen whether there will be a settlement on the transfer fee or if the game of bidding wars continues deeper into the January transfer window.

Inter Milan join Arsenal in race for World Cup star

Arsenal have been joined by Italian giants Inter Milan in the race to sign World Cup star Marcus Thuram in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Gunners look set to spend big in the market as reports claim that manager Mikel Arteta has the blessing of the owners to make a push for signings.

Plenty of options have been touted as replacing the 25-year-old in the short-term, including a loan move for Atletico Madrid ace Joao Felix. Among those also named is Thuram, a versatile forward that could be available as a bargain signing with his contract expiring at Borussia Monchengladbach next summer.

The 25-year-old was also something of a World Cup star for finalists France in Qatar, often being used from the bench to change games in their favour. While it wasn't to be for Les Bleus for a historic double championship feat, for Thuram, it was certainly one to remember.

It's not only put him on Arsenal's radar though as Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the forward is being eyed by Inter Milan for a potential move. It could hand the Gunners a huge blow in trying to land him as the ideal replacement for Jesus going into the January window.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham learn Alexis Mac Allister transfer fate

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham have been handed a huge blow in their pursuit of Brighton midfielder and World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister. That's because recent reports claim that the Argentina international has already chosen his next club ahead of the January transfer window.

Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, via Football Italia, have claimed that Mac Allister has chosen Juventus as his next transfer destination. It may come as a slightly shocking move though, given the Bianconeri's recent struggles. Mac Allister's father has provided both clubs, along with Liverpool who are also interested in the 24-year-old, with a major update on his son's future.

The Argentine midfielder's father told Italian outlet Tutto Mercato: “I can only say that together with the club we will analyse the offers we will receive and then we will decide what will happen with Alexis’ future. He is doing very well in England and is grateful to Brighton as they gave him the chance to come to Europe.

"However, neither can we provide a price nor can we say who called us. We don’t want to give any information that could prejudice imminent negotiations if any.”
