The agent of Roma midfielder Amadou Diawara - Daniele Piraino - claims that Arsenal are interested in securing his services this summer.
The 23-year-old, formerly of Napoli, has been closely linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks as Mikel Arteta, the Gunners head coach, aims to beef up his midfield options.
As well as being on the look out for a creative-midfielder, Arteta, who guided his side to the Community Shield after getting the better of Liverpool on penalties at Wembley on Saturday evening, is also keen to add a defensive-midfielder to his ranks.
And when it comes to bolstering that position, Arsenal have not been short on potential candidates, with Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey and Diawara reportedly on their radar.
With negotiations for Partey going nowhere fast, Arsenal may wish to consider a move for Diawara, who racked up 31 appearances for Roma last season, after joining from Napoli last summer on a four-year deal.
Now, the 23-year-old's agent has confirmed that Arsenal are keen on him, but also admitted that his client's main focus remains on his career at Roma.
"He is concentrated on his career," Piraino told Tuttomercatoweb, via the Evening Standard.
"Diawara is at a top club like Roma, where he is happy, as there is enthusiasm around the new owners.
"However, he is also liked by many clubs in England, including Arsenal.
"Being linked with certain clubs is pleasing for him, as these are prestigious sides.
"Amadou is concentrated on football and his career."
