Arsenal's 2019/20 Premier League season and Europa League campaign predicted in full

Arsenal's first campaign under Unai Emery was a turbulent one, similar to a rollercoaster as an significant rise occurred at the start of the campaign in the form of an unbeaten run, before it all tumbled away.

Missing out on a top-four finish and the Champions League football that comes with it, before then suffering defeat in the Europa League final against London rivals Chelsea.

That resulted in frustrated supporters venting their frustration in the first few months of the summer but there has been some movement with the signings of Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos and William Saliba.

Further additions are expected in the final week of the transfer window though, with Nicolas Pepe set to be the next through the door, and that has led to rising optimism.

With the start of the Premier League season right around the corner, Arsenal are busy preparing for the big kick-off against Newcastle United and excitement is building.

BT Sport have added further fuel to the fire by developing a bumper supercomputer that has predicted everything from Premier League results to the continental campaign, including who will be the top-scorers, leading creators and strongest defence in the top-flight.

However, while Arsenal fans will be hoping for good news, the reality is that number-crunchers from Squawka, Opta and Google ultimately have very bad news for the Gunners.

Emery's second campaign at the Emirates Stadium is predicted to begin with a poor run of three defeats in the opening five matches, a run that includes a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur and left the Gunners below newly-promoted Sheffield United.

Arsenal's Europa League campaign also starts with a shock defeat but the North London side gather their composure to embark on an extended unbeaten run covering 10 matches at home and abroad, before disaster strikes again with defeats to Southampton and Manchester City.

On a positive note, Arsenal are backed to complete a rare double in the league against Manchester United but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side get revenge on the continent, knocking the Gunners out in the Round of 16 stage.

Ultimately, Arsenal are predicted to finish the season in fifth place once again and, for the first time ever, not finish in the top-four in a single Premier League week.

The Gunners attack is on form though, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette becoming the first duo to score 15+ Premier League goals in a single season since Ian Wright and Kevin Campbell in 1993/94.

Alex Iwobi is also predicted to enjoy a significant rise in form, with the Ngeria ace backed to score five goals and contribute 10 assists to the cause.

If BT Sport are to be believed, another year without Champions League football awaits, even with Pepe signed up to augment their attack.
