Arsenal rule out Emile Smith Rowe sale as contract talks continue

Arsenal have absolutely no plans to sell Emile Smith Rowe after rejecting an offer of £25million from Aston Villa.

Smith Rowe burst onto the scene last season under Mikel Arteta and established himself as a key part of the squad.

The 20-year-old has two years to run on his current deal and Arsenal want to tie him down to a new contract.

They are in talks with Smith Rowe’s representatives and, after rejecting Villa’s offer, plan to press ahead with talks.

Villa’s offer was instantly rejected by Arsenal and the club have no desire at all to cash in on Smith Rowe.

The academy graduate is viewed as an important part of Arteta’s squad going forward and the club are under no pressure to sell him.

As of yet, it is unclear if Aston Villa will return with a new bid but Arsenal have made it clear Smith Rowe is not for sale.
