Arsenal morning headlines as Zaha clarifies 'transfer message' and Marseille midfielder linked

Here are the Arsenal morning headlines for Monday, August 10.

Marseille man heading to Arsenal?

As Mikel Arteta looks to reshape his squad ahead of his first full season in charge of Arsenal, there are endless transfer rumours linking players with potential moves to north London.

The latest story, from Le10 Sport and reported by the Daily Express, is that Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson could be a Gunner in 2020/21.

According to the report, Arsenal have ‘made contact’ with Sanson’s representatives over a potential switch, after notching five league goals last season.

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are also said to be interested in signing the 25-year-old.

Fabregas wishes Willian well

Chelsea winger Willian has confirmed that he will be leaving the club this summer, and one former teammate – and former Arsenal player – sent his regards.

football.london understands Arsenal are confident of securing Willian’s services on a three-year contract which would take the 32-year-old through towards the end of his career.

He posted an open letter to Chelsea fans on Instagram to announce his seven-year stay at Stamford Bridge was over, and Cesc Fabregas was among the players replying with messages of support.

Zaha clarifies Instagram video

Wilfried Zaha has clarified an Instagram video which showed him pointing to a sign saying ‘Zaha to Arsenal’.

The video also had the caption: "So me and @wilfriedzaha have a message for you guys @arsenal.”

The Crystal Palace winger is a supporter of the club, and has not hidden his desire to become a Gunner one day.

Zaha has also been rumoured to be joining the likes of Bayern Munich and Tottenham this summer too, so his immediate future may not be at the Emirates Stadium.

However, after the footage emerged, he wrote on Instagram: “I’m just enjoying my time off and can’t control everything everyone does.”

While Anthony Billing, the person who uploaded the initial video onto the social media site, also wrote: “I can confirm that @wilfriedzaha had no partake in the banter last night. It was just a joke I decided to go along with.”
