Arsenal midfielder Jordan Nobbs ends 12-year Gunners stay with Aston Villa transfer

Jordan Nobbs has ended her 12-year stay at Arsenal by securing a permanent transfer to Aston Villa. Nobbs, who joined the Gunners from Sunderland in 2010 made 270 appearances and scored 81 goals.

She has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell in north London winning three WSL titles, four FA Cups and five League Cups. On an individual level she was also named FA Player of the Year in 2016 and the FA Players' Player of the Year in 2017.

However, the England international has struggled for consistent minutes under Jonas Eidevall. After missing out on the Olympics, World Cup and Euros due to injury in recent years, she is thought to have been keen to secure regular game time bolster her chances of making this summer's World Cup in Australia.

"Jordan has been a wonderful servant to Arsenal Football Club," Arsenal's sporting director Edu said. "Over the past 12 years, she has written her name into the Arsenal history books and forged a deep connection with our loyal supporters. We would like to wish Jordan health, happiness and success on and off the pitch in the future – she is a member of the Arsenal family for life."

"Jordan has been an integral part of this football club for over a decade and her contribution and achievements are clear to see," added head of women's football Claire Wheatley. "She embodies what it means to be a Gunner and will go down as a true Arsenal legend. We wish her all the very best in this next chapter and look forward to welcoming her back here as our guest whenever she likes."
