Arsenal have issued a statement outlining their wishes for the 2019/20 Premier League campaign to be concluded, insisting that the season must be finished "in order to maintain the integrity of each competition."
On Friday, following a Premier League stakeholders meeting, the Premier League, EFL, FA Women's Super League and FA Women's Championship campaigns were all suspended "indefinitely," with fixtures not being allowed to resume until it is "safe to do so."
Clubs were in agreement that matches would not be able to resume at the start of May, with competitions having previously been set to resume at the end of April, though that seemed somewhat ambitious, as the confirmed cases of coronavirus continue to rise on a daily bases in the UK.
All 20 Premier League clubs attended Friday's meeting, which was carried out via a video conference call, as they looked to try and hitch a plan for the remainder of the campaign.
Clubs remain committed to completing the 2019/20 season, especially with £750million of TV money at stake for Premier League clubs. Should the fixture list not be concluded, the broadcasting companies would be entitled to have the money paid back to them.
Now, the desire to conclude the season has been reiterated by Arsenal, who have issued a statement on the matter.
A statement from the Gunners read: "We are in full support of the objective for all remaining domestic league and cup matches from the 2019/20 season to be played, in order to maintain the integrity of each competition.
"We also fully agree with the principle that any return to action will only be with the full backing of Government and when medical guidance allows.
"The restart date is under constant review as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic develops and we continue to work together with all stakeholders through this very challenging time."
Another agreement that was put in place at Friday's meeting was the decision for clubs to donate £20million to the NHS, who are working tirelessly in the fight against COVID-19.
On that, Arsenal said that the move was "fully backed and welcomed" by the club.
