Arsenal fans told to 'get a grip' in brutal rant after Mikel Arteta inspires win vs Tottenham

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara has told Arsenal supporters to "get a grip" after the North London Derby on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners outclassed Spurs at the Emirates Stadium with three first-half goals and the hosts secured their third successive victory in the Premier League.

Arsenal have turned around their form after losing their opening three league matches of the season, with the outlook from the club's fan base changing slightly - rather understandably, considering three consecutive victories.

However, former Spurs man O'Hara does not see it like this and thinks Arsenal supporters are acting like they've won the league after a victory over a "bang average" Tottenham.

O'Hara told talkSPORT: "Can we get something right, right now? You've got nine points, you're going on like you've won the league all of the sudden.

"You beat a bang average Spurs team with a bang average manager and you are going on like you've won the title.

"It's embarrassing. You have had the biggest fall from grace out of any football club in the Premier League. You used to compete with Man United every week for the title, and now you've beat an average Spurs team and acting like you've won Europe.

"Get a grip of yourself, Arsenal fans, it's ridiculous. You used to have Emmanuel Petit, Vieira, Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry - you used to batter teams at the top of the table.

"Look at Man United, where they are. You have had the biggest fall from grace in England ever."

Mikel Arteta, who has seen the pressure on his shoulders ease following the fine run of form, admitted that he is starting to see his long-term plan come into place at the Emirates Stadium.

He said to the media after the game : "This is an Arsenal team that they have won a game today and their manager saw a a lot of things that he feels very related to. I’m proud of the way played.

I’m more proud to be able to give something back to the fans because they really stuck behind the team.

"I think we all agree that we saw a team that was really convincing from the beginning.

"Playing with the right energy, with high rhythm, with a lot of quality, with great cohesion and understanding of what we wanted to do with and without the ball.

"Then we were super efficient. I think that’s something that we’ve been lacking in the final third, that final pass, the right shots to hit the target more. I think we did all that really, really well in the first half."
