Arsenal fans spot what James Maddison has done on Instagram after four-word transfer message

One of Mikel Arteta and Edu's Arsenal transfer missions this summer is to sign a creative midfielder.

This was the case even before the window opened and has become a bigger priority after being beaten to the signing of Emiliano Buendia by Aston Villa.

Furthermore, as it appears likely that Martin Odegaard - who spent the second half of the season just gone on loan with the north London outfit - likely to stay at Real Madrid, the number 10 role needs to be filled.

Could Leicester City's James Maddison be the one to solve Arsenal's creative problems in the 2021/22 campaign?

Well, football.london understands that Arteta is an admirer of Maddison, although, the one major sticking point for Arsenal is Leicester's demands of over £60million.

But if Edu is able to seal a £60m deal for the 24-year-old, then it's likely to get the seal of approval from many Gunners supporters.

One, in particular, posted an image of himself and Maddison with a four-word caption that read: "He's coming to Arsenal", with the midfielder tagged in the Instagram Story post.

Of course, this prompted a massive reaction from fans on social media.

Although, one supporter on Reddit has spotted that Maddison followed the fan who uploaded the aforementioned image to his Instagram stories.

However, it's safe to say that Arsenal fans are split on this development.

@Wass1886 said: "He's coming."

@Mercedesvpapi said: "Get it done @Arsenal."

Arsenal_Analysis said: "Don’t do that to me...don’t give me hope."

@TrickyTrincao said: "Loud delusional fans getting toyed with for followers and they’ll fall for it."

@khalid4qn said: "Just a cheap attempt to get likes and follows nothing more."
