Arsenal fans express concern at one name in Gunners XI for Europa League final

It didn't take long for the teams for the Europa League final to be announced before Arsenal expressed their concern at one of Unai Emery's decisions.

The Gunners boss has opted to pick veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech ahead of Bernd Leno, giving the Czech international a farewell appearance ahead of his retirement in the summer.

Cech is highly likely to take up a role as Chelsea's sporting director following his retirement, and that has made plenty of Gunners fans extremely nervous.

Emery hailed the keeper before the game.

“I respect him a lot," he said.

"His career is amazing. First as a person, second like a professional goalkeeper. He deserves trust in him.

“Because his career says to us he is a gentleman. Tomorrow he can start or not start. I am going to decide. But both will be with respect. How we can not believe in him?

“I can speak about Petr Cech a lot. He is a great man, great professional, nice in his behaviour, it will be last match tomorrow and I want to do something important with him in last moment of his career. We want to win for us.”

A legend at Stamford Bridge, Cech himself highlighted the difference between his time at Chelsea and Arsenal before the game.

“At Chelsea, even when we drew at home against a big team, it felt like a funeral in the dressing-room. It was so bad. It felt impossible that we didn’t win,"he told talkSPORT .

“But then I came to Arsenal and as much as Arsene Wenger hated losing, he always stayed a gentleman whatever the result. If we won or lost, he just kind of carried on.

“And that was something I’d never experienced before.

“So as strange as it might sound, I think at Arsenal there is not enough pressure.”

Of course Cech is going to try his best for the Gunners on Wednesday, but these fans are a bit nervous.

Are they right to be?
