Arsenal centre-back Shkodran Mustafi has insisted that a decision regarding his future at the club is at the back of mind amid the current coronavirus pandemic.
The defender looked headed for the exit during Unai Emery's reign at Arsenal - but since Mikel Arteta took over as manager, Mustafi has come back into the fold, making ten appearances for the club under the Spaniard.
Mustafi has less than 18 months left on his current contract with the Gunners, and while there were rumours that he would indeed depart in the summer, the 27-year-old has stressed that owing to the recent outbreak of the coronavirus, his future is not at the forefront of his thinking.
He told Sky in Germany : “We are in a situation where everyone is worried about the current situation and not so much about their personal future.
“It is difficult to think about my personal future. None of us know what will happen next and when we can play again.
“So, once we have overcome this difficult time and are back on the pitch, I can think about questions like that. At the moment, I don’t think about it.
“Also the club has more important stuff to deal with right now than my future.”
All Premier League action has been suspended until at least April 30, with it more than likely that it will be pushed back even further, possibly past the summer.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta contracted the virus earlier this month but has since made a recovery.

However, he opted not to return to training on Tuesday, stating that doing so would be "inappropriate & irresponsible."
The upcoming Euros have been postponed until next year, while the lower steps of football - those outside the Leagues - have had their season annulled.
A decision regarding this season's Premier League is yet to be made, though most expect it to resume when safe to do so, and not be voided.
