Following successive defeats to Manchester United and Everton, Arsenal have reacted to these setbacks with a plethora of positivity.
With impressive wins against Southampton, West Ham and Leeds achieved, the Gunners have taken maximum points in their last three Premier League matches, which leaves them sitting in fourth place going into the Christmas break.
The likes of Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have all continued to shine, but Brazilian star Gabriel Martinelli has arguably been the standout performer.
Regardless of whether it's been through the right or left flank, the 20-year-old has been a breath of fresh air, with four goals and two assists to his name in the Gunners' last six Premier League games.
But it's not just been his output that has stood out, Martinelli's all-round game and ability to link attacks together in tight spaces is an aspect of his game that has improved considerably this season.
The consistency Martinelli is showing on the pitch has caught the attention of ex-Arsenal player and pundit Paul Merson, who has showered the youngster with immense praise
“Martinelli is a very special talent. I like him, but the question is: how long is he going to be fit for? If he can maintain his fitness, Arsenal have got a new signing – a £50m player," Merson said to Sky Sports
“On top of that there’s Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, Martin Odegaard is starting to look like the decent player he was meant to be when he arrived at Arsenal, Thomas Partey is starting to play now.
“Arsenal are starting to look decent but, as I say, they are still a bag of Revels, you put your hand in and you’re never sure what you’re going to get!"
Martinelli will be hoping that he can influence proceedings in the clubs' next two games against Norwich City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
