Arsenal and their top three striker transfer targets as Dusan Vlahovic alternatives emerge

Arsenal have identified three top candidates to lead the Gunners frontline.

The North London side are looking for a refresh with Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang's days looking numbered after disciplinary issues while Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah appear close to exits too.

The Athletic's David Ornstein is about as high an authority as it gets on goings-on at the Emirates.

And he says Mikel Arteta's main push this window is Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.

The 21-year-old Serbian is highly sought after with 16 goals in just 20 Serie A appearances so far this season.

It's claimed Arsenal are in "the strongest position" to land him and do not need to sell before they buy.

There are alternatives however as Real Sociedad's Alexander Isak and Everton frontman Dominic Calvert-Lewin are also on Arteta's list.

Isak, 22 hasn't been in great scoring form in La Liga this term but his ceiling is sky high while DCL is proven in the Premier League.

A deal would essentially be a summer transfer "done early".

Midfield, too, remains a priority with Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny going to AFCON, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles is on loan at Roma.
