DON'T MISS: "I Am the Night" _ Inspired by true events, this six-part, Los Angeles-based noir thriller from "Wonder Woman" director Patty Jenkins tells the gripping story of a washed-up reporter (Chris Pine) who crosses paths with a teen girl (India Eisley) intent on unlocking the mysteries of her past. Together they follow a sinister trail that veers ever closer to an infamous Los Angeles gynecologist, Dr. George Hodel (Jefferson Mays), a man involved in some of Hollywood's darkest debauchery, and possibly, its most infamous unsolved crime. SUNDAY: "Rent," the 1996 rock opera about seven artists struggling to follow their dreams in New York City, becomes the latest musical to get the live-TV treatment. The cast includes Jordan Fisher and Vanessa Hudgens. (8 p.m., Fox).
MONDAY: "Breslin and Hamill: Deadline Artists" is a new documentary that explores the lives of two giants of journalism _ Jimmy Breslin and his pal Pete Hamill. For five decades, these colorful columnists personified New York, speaking for ordinary people during the last great era of print journalism. (8 p.m., HBO).
MONDAY: On "Independent Lens: The King," filmmaker Eugene Jarecki takes Elvis Presley's 1963 Rolls-Royce for a musical road trip across America and an examination of the country itself. Passengers along the way include Alec Baldwin, Rosanne Cash, Emmylou Harris, Ethan Hawke and Dan Rather, among others. (9 p.m., PBS).
TUESDAY: Unless plans change due to the government shutdown, President Donald Trump will deliver the annual State of the Union speech to a joint session of Congress in the Capitol tonight. (6 p.m. PT; 9 p.m. ET, broadcast networks and cable news channels).
TUESDAY: "Super Bowl Greatest Commercials 2019" is a celebration of the offbeat ads that are often more entertaining than the game. Included: that gross one from 2011, where a guy sucks Doritos dust off a co-worker's hand. Ew! (8 p.m., CBS).
WEDNESDAY: Season 5 of "Vikings" comes to an end tonight with _ what else? _ a huge battle. This time it's brother vs. brother as Bjorn faces off against Ivar for the title of king. Who's your money on? (9 p.m., History).
THURSDAY: The latest "30 for 30" sports documentary is "Deion's Double Play." It's a profile of Deion Sanders, the brash, magnetic and supremely gifted athlete who played both football and baseball and gave himself the nickname "Prime Time." (9 p.m., ESPN).
FRIDAY: Movie buffs, rejoice. Turner Classic Movies' "31 Days of Oscar" event begins tonight. It's a massive, monthlong film fest stuffed with prize-winning productions and designed to get you primed for the Academy Awards. (8 p.m., TCM; check listings for specific titles).
SATURDAY: The night before the Super Bowl seems like a fitting time for "NFL Honors." It celebrates the 2018 season with awards for MVP, Coach of the Year and more. Also, the 2019 Pro Football Hall of Fame class will be unveiled. (9 p.m., CBS).
