When Arnold Schwarzenegger tuned in to watch The White Lotus season three, he was excited. After all, his son, Patrick Schwarzenegger was starring in the beloved series. However, the last thing he expected to see was a full frontal of his eldest son’s “weenie”. Yes, the former Governor of California really said that.
In the latest episode of Variety’s YouTube series Actors On Actors, Arnold and Patrick sat across from one another for a candid conversation about their careers. Together, they reflected on Arnie’s incredible career, nepotism, Patrick’s breakout role in The White Lotus and, of course, full frontal nudity.
According to the Terminator star, he “couldn’t believe” it when he saw Patrick’s wang on screen.
“I said to myself, I’m watching your show, and I’m watching your butt sticking out there and all of a sudden, I see the weenie,” Arnold quips.
“This is crazy!”
But Patrick was pretty quick to call out his old man for a dose of cheeky hypocrisy.
“Well, Arnold, hello,” he replied. “You did the same thing in Conan and Terminator, so don’t complain about it.”
“But it was a shock to me that you were following my footsteps so closely,” Arnold replied with a laugh.
Although it was a stiff surprise for Arnold, throughout the entire interview, he couldn’t help but gush about his son’s acting ability and achievements.
“Your acting surprised the hell out of me. I didn’t recognise you. I was blown away,” the muscle man said.
“Now everyone is coming up to me in the gym and they’re saying ‘you’re son in fanastic’. The amount of compliments that I’ve been getting about you, are just extraordinary.”
How sweet is that?
Patrick, 31, is the third child to Arnold, 77, and journalist Maria Shriver, 69. They also share Katherine, 35, Christina, 33, and Chris, 27.
Arnold also has another child, Joseph Baena, 27, whom he had with his former housekeeper Mildred Baena.
