Army and police closed a road after it was reported an "unexploded mortar bomb" had been found in a field.
Police and bomb disposal teams were called to a farm on Stockton Lane, Warrington around 2pm yesterday (Monday 26).
Stockton Lane was closed off by police and people asked to avoid the area as bomb disposal teams attended.

A spokesperson for Warrington Police posted on their Facebook page: "Stockton Lane was closed as a result of the incident and people were asked to avoid the area as a precaution.
"Stockton Lane will be closed for the next few hours due to a WW2 artillery shell cone found in a nearby field.
"Army in attendance".
Following further investigation, Cheshire Police said the device turned out not to be explosive but was taken away to be properly disposed of.
A spokesperson for the force said: "At around 2pm on Monday, July 26, police in attendance at a farm on Stockton Lane, Stockton Heath, were notified that an unexploded mortar bomb had been found at the address.

"A cordon was set up as a precaution and the EOD attended the scene.
"Following a further investigation it was deemed not to be explosive but it was taken away to be disposed of."

This wasn't the only time bomb disposal teams have been called out in the past week to suspected World War Two explosive devices.
On Wednesday, July 21, homes were evacuated after two unexploded bombs were discovered in Wirral.
Once police arrived at the scene they evacuated a 'small number' of homes surrounding the bombs, closed surrounding roads to traffic and put a cordon in place 'as a precaution'.
