
Police are warning residents about a series of armed robberies reported in the last month in West Town and on the Near West Side.
In each case, a group of men or teenage boys approached victims, pulled out a handgun and demanded their belongings, according to a community alert from Chicago police.
The hold-ups occurred:
- At 9:10 p.m. Nov. 9 in the 2300 block of West Lake Street;
- At 10 a.m. Nov. 10 in the 2100 block of West Washington Boulevard;
- At 5:15 p.m. Dec. 2 in the 2300 block of West Monroe Street;
- At 5:05 p.m. Dec. 3 in the 2200 block of West Monroe; and
- At 7:15 p.m. Dec. 3 in the 2400 block of West Warren Boulevard.
The suspects were described as a group of one to three males between 14 and 20 years old standing 5-foot-7 to 6 feet tall, police said.
