Ariana Grande tackles love rival to the ground in video for new track Boyfriend

Ariana Grande won't let anything get in the way of a new romance in the music video for new track Boyfriend.

The Grammy-winner has collaborated with Los Angeles-based pop duo Social House for the single, which was shared online earlier today.

The music video for the song - which explores themes of jealousy, possessiveness and infatuation - sees Grande do whatever she can to get her crush's undivided attention.

Scenes show the singer tacking a love rival to the ground, dramatically shooting an arrow through a woman’s hand and even shooting lasers out of her bra.

Social House, comprised of Pittsburgh natives Michael 'Mikey' Foster and Charles 'Scootie' Anderson, unveiled the video ahead the release of their debut EP Everything Changed.

In the video Grande sees Foster talking to another woman at a party and becomes so upset that she rugby tackles her rival to the floor.

“I can't have what I want, but neither can you,” Grande sings, as she loses her composure.

Later, the 26-year-old wields a bow and arrow and ends up with the object of her affections before the song ends.

Things become even more dramatic when Foster has a daydream in which he literally rips the heart out of a male suitor who pursues Grande. In response, Grande shoots heart-shaped pink laser beams out of her bra.

The song follows Grande’s 2019 collaborations with Victoria Monét for MONOPOLY and 2 Chainz’s 7 rings (Remix) and Rule the World.

Ariana's last album, Thank U, Next, was released in February, just five months after her hit album Sweetener.
