The Saudi-led Arab coalition intercepted and destroyed two explosive-laden boats launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militias in the Red Sea.
Coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Malki said the forces thwarted the Houthis’ attempt to carry out a terrorist attack in the southern Red Sea.
The vessels were launched from Yemen’s Hodeidah province, he added.
He accused the Houthis of threatening regional and international security and global marine trade routes.
The militias are using Hodeidah as a platform to launch ballistic missiles, armed drones and vessels, and to plant naval mines in flagrant violation of international law, Malki charged.
The coalition will continue to take the necessary firm deterrent measures in order to neutralize the Houthis threats, he vowed.
