Apple Vision Pro is getting new 'immersive' content and it's putting people courtside at the Lakers

NBA All-Star Weekend on Apple Vision Pro Immersive Video .

Buying tickets to anything is expensive nowadays, but courtside seats at an NBA game? That's a whole new level of expensive. Thankfully, the next new Immersive experiences coming to Apple Vision Pro could help you get right in the middle of the action.

Select Los Angeles Lakers games will be live-streamed directly to the Apple Vision Pro, with the use of Blackmagic Design’s URSA Cine Immersive Live camera. These will be set up courtside and under each basket to help you get up close to the game in a way you only a few people ever get to experience.

This isn't the first time Apple has brought immersive events like this to the Vision Pro. Earlier this year, it launched a new concert experience with Metallica, though this wasn't live-streamed.

Apple also won't be streaming every Lakers game, though it has confirmed "select" games will be available during the coming season. The specific games will be announced sometime this fall, and the first immersive games are expected to stream in early 2026.

It's a lot of hoops to have to jump through to watch a basketball game, but if Apple can pull it off, these are going to be games like no other.

Games will also require the Apple Vision Pro headset, which will set you back at least $3,500, as well as the visionOS 26 software update and either the official NBA app or the upcoming Spectrum SportsNet app. While subscription details haven't been confirmed, I'd be surprised if these games end up being freely available. So expect to have to subscribe to tune in.

Plus, as expensive as the Vision Pro might be right now, courtside seats are on another level. Assuming there are even any available. So this might be your best chance to experience what it's like to be right up against the action.
