An officer in Co Tyrone had to receive treatment in hospital after being dragged to the ground by a car fleeing a checkpoint.
He sustained leg injuries during the incident and an investigation has since been launched.
It occurred at around 6:00am on Crossowen Road in Clogher, when the officer approached the car to talk to the driver of a white BMW.
They drove off quickly and dragged the member of the police force to the ground without stopping.
A while later, the vehicle was found abandoned near where the incident occurred.
A man in his 40s was later arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving, driving when unfit through drink or drugs as well as failing to stop and remain at the scene of the injury.
In a statement, a PSNI spokesperson said: “The officer sustained leg injuries as a result of this incident and required hospital treatment.
“The vehicle was located abandoned nearby a short later.
“One man, aged in his forties, was later arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving, driving when unfit through drink or drugs and failing to stop at, remain at and report an accident where injury was caused.
“He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.”
Officers are now appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw this incident, or the vehicle, or who may have dashcam or other footage, to contact them.
