Another RAF plane spotted flying over Glasgow as part of ‘essential training’

Glasgow planespotters have again been glued to the skies above the city today as another huge military aircraft takes part in 'essential training'.

The RAF confirmed today that their C-17 Globemaster aircraft would be operating in the vicinity of Jersey and Glasgow, whilst engaged in the training.

Noting that they are necessary and routine flights that are not connected with RAF support to the UK's fight against coronavirus.

RAF Brize Norton tweeted: "Today, our C-17 Globemaster aircraft will be operating in the vicinity of Jersey and Glasgow, whilst engaged in essential training.

"These are necessary, routine, flights & not connected with RAF support to the UK's fight against Coronavirus."

Based at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, C-17 Globemaster is a longrange, heavy-lift strategic transport aircraft that normally performs tactical and strategic airlift missions, transporting troops and cargo throughout the world.

The training flight comes weeks after another RAF plane was spotted on frequent occasions above Glasgow for the same reason.

Plenty of people in the city took to social media to share their pics of the RAF's A400M Atlas four-engine military transport aircraft as it flew above the city.
