Anne Hathaway felt 'tormented' by pregnant women during struggle to conceive

Anne Hathaway has revealed that she felt "tormented" by pregnant women when she was struggling to conceive.

The Princess Diaries actress announced that she is expecting her second child in a moving post just last week.

Now the star has opened up about her journey to conceive to help her fans feel “less isolated” if they are in similar positions.

She told the Daily Mail: “Each time I was trying to get pregnant and it wasn't going my way, someone else would manage to conceive.

“I knew intellectually that it didn't happen just to torment me, but, to be honest, it felt a little bit like it did.”

She added: “By leaving out the sad part, we make women who are struggling with this feel like it's all their fault.

“I wanted to be more sensitive than that.”

In the interview, the Oscar-winning actress said that she hopes her comments will help other women who are too afraid to speak out about their fertility problems.

In her initial Instagram post, the 36-year-old wrote: “For everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies.

“Sending you extra love.”

The snap was a mirror selfie of Hathaway proudly displaying her growing bump.

The Les Miserables star is already a mum to three-year-old son Jonathan with her husband Adam Shulman.
