Key Edinson Cavani suitor ruled out

Leeds United have one less rival in their reported bid to land superstar Edinson Cavani.

The Whites have been linked with a move for the former PSG star who became a free agent this summer.

The Uruguayan is a proven goalscorer at the top level and there's no doubt he would be a huge addition as Leeds United head into the Premier League.

But any hopes of them landing Cavani looked to have been ruined when it emerged Bayern Munich may be interested.

These fears have been allayed however, as the German champions have been ruled out of  the race.

Or at least that's according to German football expert and head of football for Bild Christian Falk, who retweeted a report claiming Bayern were interested and wrote "NOT TRUE".

Community Shield confusion

The Football Association has cast doubt on whether Premier League champions Liverpool will feature against the FA Cup winners in the Community Shield on August 29.

The date for the annual curtain-raiser to the new Premier League season has been set, with Arsenal or Chelsea competing dependent on who emerges victorious from this weekend's FA Cup final.

However, while both London clubs have been mentioned, The Sun reports that the FA will state the two confirmed competing sides next week.
