Angry St Patrick's Athletic boss Stephen O'Donnell could be in hot water after slamming referee Sean Grant

St Patrick's Athletic manager Stephen O'Donnell could find himself in hot water after singling out referee Sean Grant for criticism.

O'Donnell reacted strongly to the second half dismissal of Rory Feely in his side's 1-0 loss to Shelbourne at Tolka Park last Friday.

Feely was booked for a heavy first half challenge on Ryan Brennan but O'Donnell was very unhappy with Grant's decision to show Feely a second yellow when he accidentally tripped Aaron Dobbs in the 70th minute.

"That's the second time we've had this referee in the first three weeks and I don't think we have had a decision off him yet," said O'Donnell.

"It's something that we are going to have to look at and see what action we take. Everyone could see that the sending off was very harsh but I'm not surprised.

"I don't know what you can do, we'll see. There has to be something you can do.

"He's reffed us twice in the first three games and he hasn't given us much - ff you look back at both tapes, the evidence will be there.

"I think they were allowed away with more, if you want to say that. We'll just leave it like that."
