Ange Postecoglou's emotional Celtic and Hearts Aussie embrace as Cammy Devlin gushes 'everyone likes him'

Cammy Devlin has lifted the lid on when he met up with Ange Postecoglou after a close contest between Celtic and Hearts.

And Tynecastle's favourite Aussie can't believe his compatriot is boss in Glasgow's east end.

Postecoglou's whirlwind debut season continues with a Premier Sports Cup title in the bank and, despite a six-point Premiership deficit to Rangers, growing optimism in his reign.

Devlin meanwhile is enjoying a brilliant start to life in Gorgie. He's a mainstay in the Jambos midfield who remain clear in third place, leaving Aberdeen, Hibs, Motherwell and Dundee United trailing.

And when they met back in December - Kyogo Furuhashi's controversial goal splitting the sides - Postecoglou took Devlin aside for a brief moment of national pride.

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, Devlin said the Celtic boss told him: "So good to see you doing so well, mate. There is another level in you. Keep working hard."

Devlin added: "I was hoping I’d get the chance to say hello to him after the game.

"Although I was knackered and gutted about the loss, it was nice to meet him and hear him say that to me, someone who has done so much for Australian football.

"He’s coaching fricken Celtic, man. It’s insane.

"The talk here, everyone likes him as well – even in Edinburgh, no one’s had a bad word to say. And everyone’s pretty opinionated over here."

Devlin is a massive fan favourite at Hearts and he feeds off the adulation, often being the last player down the tunnel at the end of a game as he soaks in the journey so far.

He added: "The fans, I can’t even put it into words, to be honest.

"I’m so grateful for it. It’s something I’ve never really seen before or experienced, going out in the street and people want to take photos with you or speak to you.

"If I can get a photo with someone and it makes them happy, it’s such a cool feeling that I can do that for someone, where I’m just a normal person, if you know what I mean."
