Former Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is emerging as an option for the vacancies at Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahce, according to reports.
Postecoglou has been out of work since being relieved of his duties at Spurs just days after masterminding a 1-0 win over Manchester United in last season’s Europa League final - winning the club's first trophy in 17 years.
Previously tipped for a return to management with LAFC earlier in the summer, fresh reports claim the 60-year-old has two top European teams weighing up an approach for his signature.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Postecoglou’s name has been discussed by Leverkusen and Fenerbahce. Both teams are currently without a manager after parting company with two ex-Man Utd bosses in Erik ten Hag and Jose Mourinho over the past week.
The former lasted just two Bundesliga games, while Mourinho paid the ultimate price after the Turkish outfit missed out on qualification for the Champions League.
As a result, Fener will be competing in the Europa League this season. Leverkusen, though, are in the Champions League which could be decisive if both teams make an approach for Postecoglou.
With the Bundesliga outfit facing Premier League opposition in Manchester City and Newcastle in the league phase, Postecoglou could come up against familiar foes should he take the job at the BayArena.
Furthermore, were Postecoglou to replace ten Hag then he would be on course to face Spurs at some point in the competition if both teams secure a top 24 finish at minimum.
Postecoglou was relieved of his duties at Tottenham following a disastrous Premier League campaign in which they lost 22 games and finished 17th in the table.
There were suggestions that guiding Spurs to Europa League glory in Bilbao would save the his job, but chairman Daniel Levy had other ideas and decided to bring an end to Postecoglou's two-year stay in north London.
Thomas Frank was hired as the replacement and has made a decent start to life as Tottenham head coach, recording two wins from his opening three Premier League games and almost clinching the Uefa Super Cup against Paris Saint-Germain.
