Ange Postecoglou and the Celtic staff claim from Australia as it's suggested new boss got 'inherit from within' order

An Australian football insider has claimed Ange Postecoglou 's backroom team will be selected by Celtic club chiefs.

There has been speculation over who will work alongside Postecoglou at Parkhead with nobody from former club Yokohama F Marinos joining the set-up so far.

Neil Lennon 's former lieutenants John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan took the early days of pre-season training while Postecoglou was in self-isolation.

Both have now joined the new boss at the training camp in Wales with no definitive statement from the club on behind the scenes roles.

Postecoglou insisted at his introduction that he would have full say over his staff, but would be taking his time to assess things,

But Australian agent Tony Rallis has now claimed that the boss has been told he must work within the existing Celtic framework.

Rallis told the Triple M Real Football Show : “My understanding is that Celtic Football Club have told Ange that he has to develop and inherit from within.

"He wasn’t allowed to take any of his staff (from Yokohama).

“Whether that changes in time I’m not sure, but that was the initial program, that we want you to come in and educate and implement within our own environment.

"Including the promotion from youth players within the academy.

"They are a great club. I've had experience with great players like Davie Provan, and they should be producing more than they are producing now."

When speaking at his first press conference, Postecoglou had stated the club had allowed him to make the decisions on his behind the scenes team.

When asked about his potential team in Glasgow's east end, he said: “I’ll make those decisions as we go along.

"My view on these things is I’ll always trust my judgement above anyone else’s. I’m going to be the one working with people every day.

“If we need to bring people in to fill gaps or to add to expertise we will do that.

"The club has given me the freedom to do that. I’ll make my decisions once I’ve seen what’s in place first.”
