Andy Serkis reprises Theresa May-Gollum following Brexit vote

Andy Serkis has returned as Gollum to once more mock Theresa May over the ongoing Brexit debacle.

Following news that parliament overwelmingly voted against May’s Brexit deal, Serkis released a second video of himself as the Lord of the Rings character’s character pretending to be May.

The secon ”leak from 10 Downing Street” sees the actor sing a reinvisioned version of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”, with the lyrics relating to Brexit.

“Was that the right deal or was that just fantasy? Are we stuck in the Union, no article fifty?” Serkis as Gollum-May sings.

“Open your eyes, did you notice the lies or see? I’m just Theresa, I need your sympathy.” Watch above.

Serkis previously brought back Gollum last year, ahead of the first sceduled date for the Brexit vote in the House of Commons.

The vote was delayed until earlier this week, when May lost by a majority of 230.

Serkis’s second directoril feature film, Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, debuted on Netflix in December.

The Independent’s Alexandra Pollard called the film “relentlessly, discordantly bleak. So bleak you almost admire Serkis’s audacity. But too often the film stumbles around in its own darkness and falls flat. It is, to paraphrase Kaa, not quite a kid’s film, not quite an adult’s one. Or neither. Or both.”
