Andy Robertson injury update as Liverpool star faces sweat for Premier League D-Day

Andy Robertson is facing a race against time to be fit for Liverpool's date with Premier League destiny.

The Scotland skipper was forced off with a knock in Tuesday night's epic Champions League semi final victory over Barcelona.

Robertson was involved in a Titanic tussle with former Anfield hero Luis Suarez before being removed by Jurgen Klopp.

The 25-year-old suffered a calf problem after a collision with the Uruguyan.

Robertson and his team mates were in dreamland after overturning the 3-0 first leg deficit to book their place in a second successive Champions League Final.

Liverpool’s unlikely hero of sensational Champions League win over Barcelona

But the former Dundee United defender is now sweating over his chances to play in Sunday's league finale against Wolves.

Liverpool trail Manchester City by a point going into the all important final fixture.

And Robertson told Liverpoolfc.com: “It doesn’t feel the best at the minute but I’ll get a scan tomorrow.

“They’re confident that it’s just a nerve or whatever and it can be maybe a couple of days, but we’ll wait and see.

“We can’t really comment until I get the scan, but I’ll be saying my prayers tonight.”

Meanwhile, Robertson took a dig at former Anfield ace Suarez after he was kicked twice by former Kop favourite Suarez in an off-the-ball incident.

Asked about the clash, the Scotland captain told BT Sport: "Who’s going to the Final?

"We’re going to the Final so that’s all that matters.

"Honestly, I don’t care just now. Fingers crossed I’ll be okay.

"This team is incredible, seriously. I’ve said it so many times this season, but my god, what a team.

"We believe. People wrote us off. But we believed if we got off to a good start we could do it.

"Alisson has pulled off some unbelievable saves. Fingers crossed.

"We go to Sunday full of energy. It’s out of our hands but we’ve seen stranger things happen. Especially tonight."
