Andy Murray kitmakers Castore open first shop on London's King's Road in Chelsea

The young brothers who make Andy Murray's kit have just opened their first flagship store in the heart of Chelsea.

Premium sportswear firm Castore, owned by Liverpool -based brothers Tom and Phil Beahon, have opened a 1,200sq ft store on King's Road, which is home to some of the world's most prestigious brands.

The store will serve Castore’s full range of gym, running, tennis, golf and technical lifestyle collections and act as a sports hub for customers.

The siblings are both former sportsmen, with Tom having played football for Tranmere Rovers, but told BusinessLive earlier this year that they gave up their professions "to try and be very good at something rather than mediocre", and came up with their premium brand Castore.

Co-founder Phil Beahon said: “The expansion and the store opening is a major milestone for Castore.

"The ethos of the store is extremely minimalist and very much designed to accentuate focus on the product themselves which are the heart of the Castore brand."

Castore in January became the official kit sponsor of British tennis star Murray.

The Liverpool-based company was founded in 2015 by the Wirral brothers.

Its sportswear sells online in over 40 countries, as well as through retail partners Mr Porter, Harrods, Selfridges and Matches Fashion.

Sir Andy Murray, who is an adviser to the company, said: "I am delighted to see Castore open its first store in such an iconic location as the King’s Road.

"Since I became involved in Castore, the team have been very focused on finding the perfect store and we are very excited to have finally found it."

The store will be open for six months, and include a Castore lounge - featuring a golf simulator for customers to test out their recently-launched golf kit.
