Finishing atop the group stage of the 10-team league, KKR continued their dominance by defeating SRH in the first qualifier on Tuesday and carrying that momentum into the final, which concluded in a mere 29 overs.
In a symbolic gesture of appreciation, KKR players lifted their mentor Gautam Gambhir on their shoulders to celebrate the victory.
This marked Gambhir's inaugural stint as a mentor with KKR, having previously led the team to titles in 2012 and 2014 as captain.
