Andre Iguodala’s game-sealing 3 sent NBA fans into a frenzy

The Golden State Warriors nearly let a crucial Game 2 win slip away, but a familiar clutch performer came through when it mattered most.

Midway through the fourth quarter, Nick Nurse made a bold defensive adjustment to go with a box-and-one scheme top slow down Steph Curry — this was something we sparingly see at the college level and wild to even think of in the NBA Finals.

But the weirdness worked.

The Warriors went nearly the final five minutes of the game without scoring, allowing Toronto to chip away and come within two points. Needing a stop (or, actually a foul — yeah, a foul), Toronto left Andre Iguodala wide open for a game-sealing 3 from the wing.

This was how you end a scoring drought.

The shot, which locked up the Warriors’ 109-104 win, had NBA fans going nuts. It was shades of Iguodala’s MVP performance in the 2015 NBA Finals.

The Warriors and Raptors will meet again for Game 3 on Wednesday in Oakland.
