Andraz Sporar to Celtic transfer boost as Slovan Bratislava chief talks up new signing

Slovan Bratislava have signed a new striker, potentially opening the way for Celtic target Andraz Sporar to leave.

Sporar is the top-scorer in the Slovak league and is being pursued by Celtic, Sporting, Bristol City and others.

Hoops manager Neil Lennon is keen to add a striker to his squad this month, as he needs a player to alternate with Odsonne Edouard .

Today Slovan completed the signing of Alen Ozbolt from Lokomotiv Plovdiv, potentially paving the way for Sporar to leave.

Vice-president Ivan Kmotrík Jr said: "Andraz has set the bar high and it will be difficult for any attacker to equal or even surpass him.

"No matter how the situation with Andraz develops, we do not want to say that Alen is his replacement.

"It's up to him to show what he can do in the team and whether he can score goals. I believe Alen has the potential to do so.

"When compared to Andraz he's not as far along in his development but he can beat a man in the final third and is a very good finisher."
