Andi Peters aims brutal dig at This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield came under fire from Andi Peters as the host made a savage dig at his colleagues.

The 51-year-old made the remarks as he filled in for Lorraine Kelly on today's edition of her popular programme.

This Morning follows episodes of Lorraine at 10am on ITV's regular schedule, but it is off the air this week as the presenters enjoy a Christmas break.

Andi aimed a cheeky jibe at the regular presenters of This Morning as he closed today's episode.

He joked: "Let's go live to Phillip and Holly and see what they're doing.

"Oh no, apparently they're not doing a show. They're already on holiday,

"I knew that already. That's it for today."

Holly and Phil are set to appear on a special edition of This Morning which will air on Christmas Day. However, the episode is pre-recorded so they are currently already enjoying their festive holiday.

Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary presented the final live This Morning episode of 2021 on Friday.

ITV is airing a revised schedule in the week leading up to Christmas as both This Morning and Loose Women have been replaced by Rylan Clark's Supermarket Sweep and Stephen Mulhern's In For A Penny.

Viewers on Twitter were left confused by the schedule shake-up as they tuned in to catch their usual favourites.

laurengrant981 said: "Up at 5 waiting for #ThisMorning and it's not on".

dawudaishah added: "Is everyone off #ThisMorning because I don't understand why Supermarket Sweep is on."

Hotsunnydaze1 posted: "It is just a normal work day but ITV seem to think it is holiday time."

Sean Smith tweeted : "#ThisMorning isn't on?? There's a full week before Christmas!!"

A special Christmas Day episode of This Morning will air from 10am on ITV on December 25.
