AMARAVATI: The number of active coronavirus cases in Andhra Pradesh slid to 24,854 even as the state reported 2,345 fresh positives, 3,001 recoveries and 16 deaths in the 24 hours ending 9 am on Friday.
The state Covid-19 chart showed 19,34,450 total positives, 18,96,499 recoveries and 13,097 deaths.
East Godavari district reported 508 fresh cases, Chittoor 332, Prakasam 243, Krishna 238, West Godavari 229 and SPS Nellore 228, according to the latest bulletin.
Visakhapatnam added 150 and Guntur 121 in a day, while the remaining five districts registered less than 100 new cases each.
Guntur logged three fresh Covid-19 fatalities and Anantapuramu, Chittoor, East Godavari, Krishna, Prakasam and Kurnool two each in 24 hours.
Visakhapatnam added one more to the tally.
Five of 13 districts in the state now have less than 1,000 active Covid-19 cases each, with Kurnool being at the bottom with 371 and Vizianagaram above it with 399.
Only East Godavari district has more than 4,000 active cases and Chittoor over 3,500.
Six districts now have less than 3,000 active cases each.
