VIJAYAWADA: Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday met Union home minister Amit Shah in Delhi on the second day of his two-day visit to the national capital. The chief minister reached Delhi on Thursday and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union finance minister Nirmala Seetharaman on the first day.
During the meeting with Amit Shah, Jagan raised the pending issues related to state bifurcation and those that cropped up post-bifurcation. Jagan renewed the demands that he had raised in the past at the South Zonal Committee meeting held in Tirupati in November 2021. The chief minister also raised the bifurcation issues like the special category status and the release of funds to the state under backward districts’ development programme.
Jagan told Amit Shah that the issues between the two Telugu states were not resolved yet. He sought the intervention of the the Union home ministry for early settlement.
