Andhra Pradesh: 17-year-old student jumps off college building in Krishna district, hurt

VIJAYAWADA: A senior intermediate student attempted to commit suicide by jumping off from the college building at Machilipatnam in Krishna district on Wednesday. The student, D Vishnu (17), suffered severe injuries and presently being treated in a private hospital at Vijayawada.

Vishnu left a status message on his WhatsApp saying that he is going to die. Upon seeing the message, his parents rushed to the college but he jumped off from the building while they were watching him.

The reason for the extreme step is yet to be ascertained. According to the cops, he was disgruntled with his parents as he was denied of taking his bike to the college.

On the other hand, sources said that Vishnu failed in the intermediate examination. Knowing about his results he might have attempted to commit suicide.
