Amaravati: The 20th meeting of the SIPB on Wednesday approved investment proposals worth more than Rs 2 lakh crore.
The State Investment Promotion Board approved 25 projects, which are expected to generate 21,627 jobs, a press release said.
The SIPB, chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, approved investment proposals worth Rs 2.08 lakh crore across 25 projects, which are expected to generate 21,627 direct jobs, the release said.
The approved investments comprise Rs 7,800 crore by Agastya Green Energy Ltd in Kurnool, Rs 1,600 crore by Akshat Green Tech Ltd in Visakhapatnam and Rs 85,200 crore by ReNew AP Green Data Centre in Anakapalli district, among others.
Naidu directed officials to focus on attracting investments in emerging sectors such as green ammonia, lithium batteries and robotics, and study measures required to promote industries in these fields.
He called for greater public awareness about industrial projects coming up across the state, alleging that some groups were spreading "misinformation" by portraying industries as "polluting units" and creating misconceptions that could hinder development.
Naidu said the data centres being established in the North Andhra region would require "only 3.5 TMC of water" and directed officials to address misconceptions surrounding such projects.
He called for continuous monitoring of industrial development in the state, alleging that "fake campaigns" were being carried out on social media by some political elements.
Naidu said the government would ensure an abundant supply of water to industries in Visakhapatnam through gravity flow from the Polavaram Left Canal.
He called for hotels and other hospitality projects coming up in the state to adopt distinctive architectural designs to attract tourists.
Naidu said defence-sector projects being established in the state were a matter of pride for the nation and directed officials to facilitate defence projects near Puttaparthi and aerospace projects near Hindupur.
The CM asked officials to complete the construction of Moolapeta Port by December for its inauguration that month.
He called for integrating logistics, modern warehousing and cold-chain projects.
He emphasised the need to strengthen road, rail and port connectivity to ensure that horticultural produce from Rayalaseema reaches international markets.
Naidu directed officials to accelerate the completion of investment agreements signed over the past year and projects approved by the SIPB.
He set a target of completing the remaining 37 MSME parks by September, with the aim of making industrial parks available across all 175 Assembly constituencies.
Naidu directed officials to implement the One Family-One Entrepreneur programme on a large scale.
He further instructed officials to credit industrial incentives to escrow accounts from December.
While incentives were essential to promote industries, the government should also assess the extent of incentives that could realistically be provided, Naidu said.
He stressed the need to formulate plans for establishing industrial projects in rural areas so that industrialisation contributes to the development of those regions.
