With preseason Week 2 in the books following the Tennessee Titans’ 24-16 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday night, it’s time to take a look at the team’s snap counts.
Leading the way on offense was quarterback Malik Willis, who saw 59 plays, which was 17 more than last week. Of course, Willis’ increase in action came from the fact that rookie signal-caller Will Levis didn’t play due to injury.
On defense, it was veteran safety Shyheim Carter who saw the most action with a total of 56 snaps, which accounted for 89 percent of the total plays.

Snap counts and takeaways: Offense
-Tennessee’s projected starting offensive line saw a total of 16 snaps, four more than last week.
-OT Jimmy Murray had the most snaps of any offensive lineman. He had been getting second-team reps at right tackle in practice during the week.
-WR Kyle Philips saw just one snap on offense and one on special teams before suffering a knee injury on a punt return.
-After not playing in preseason Week 1, TE Trevon Wesco saw 10 snaps.
-New RB Jacques Patrick saw 15 snaps, 17 fewer than RB Julius Chestnut, who shined on Saturday night.
-TE Thomas Odukoya had the most snaps of any player at the position, followed by Josh Whyle, Kevin Rader and Alize Mack, who didn’t suit up last week. Chig Okonkwo saw 12 snaps, also, and Justin Rigg had the fewest at the position.
-OT John Leglue and C James Murray had the fewest snaps among offensive lineman. Both are long shots to make the roster.
-Interestingly enough, WR Racey McMath, who figures to be on the roster bubble, had the fewest snaps at the position outside of Philips. Tre’Shaun Harrison had the most, followed by Reggie Roberson, Gavin Holmes, Mason Kinsey, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Chris Moore.
-RT Nicholas Petit-Frere saw three special teams snaps but none on offense after playing last week.
-WR Kearis Jackson didn’t see a snap on offense but six on special teams. He left early due to injury.
Snap counts and takeaways: Defense
-DL Teair Tart was the only locked-in starter to play, and he saw a significant amount of snaps with 21. He was an absolute beast out there, also.
-LB Monty Rice, who was absent from practice during the week, did not play in preseason Week 2. LBs Jack Gibbens and Chance Campbell started at linebacker. Gibbens had the fewest snaps among players at the position while Campbell had the most.
-OLBs Sam Okuayinonu and Caleb Murphy both had exactly 36 snaps. Murphy had the better night, though.
-DL Jaleen Johnson led all interior defensive linemen with 31 snaps, followed by DL Kyle Peko, who missed some practice time during the week. New DL Michael Dwumfour and DL TK McLendon had the fewest at the position. DL Jayden Peevy had just one more than both.
-DB Josh Thompson made his preseason debut but played just one snap on defense and three on special teams.
-Rookie CBs Alonzo Davis and Steven Jones, and S Matthew Jackson had the fewest snaps among defensive backs. Veteran safeties Shyheim Carter and Mike Brown and rookie CBs Eric Garror and Armani Marsh had the most, with Garror in particular shining throughout the game.
