An 'old school-style bar' has opened down Liverpool's fascinating 'Diagon Alley'

Off the beaten track and away from the city centre crowds, a new bar has opened promising to be a "home from home".

Abditory , is based on Queens Avenue - the almost secret street based off Castle Street close to Liverpool's business district.

The bar is being operated by Camp and Furnace co-founder Steven Burgess and Josh Moore who have a long term vision for the venue to "become a well loved contribution to the city's growing collection of amazing spaces."

Steven Burgess said: "We want it to be a place we are proud of and can bring our wives, girlfriends, partners and work mates of an evening and enjoy a decent drink without the hassle.

"Everything in Abditory will mean something to us, from the names of drinks to the soundtrack to the toasty fillings. We could not be more excited about having our own place in the city centre."

Its menus features a variety of wines, cocktails, beers and food such as toasties and sharing boards.

There is also a range of hot drinks and coffees too.

Queens Avenue is one of Liverpool's most loved street and is often nicknamed 'Diagon Alley' from the Harry Potter books.

Back in August, the street welcomed its first restaurant Queens Wine Bar & Bistro.

Queens Wine Bar & Bistro provides customers with handmade wines from traditional vineyards and seasonal cooking six days a week and is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 12pm.

The head chef at the bistro, Tom Lee, was the North West Young Chef of the Year in 2014 and will be bringing his extensive training to the menu.
