I hadn’t even taken the first sip of my morning coffee when I bore witness to a sight wholly unexpected on morning news; ex-NRL player Aaron Woods going full-frontal on Today.
The coffee-spit inducing moment went down at around 6am this morning, when Today hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo threw to a live-cross with journo Danika Mason, who was at Bondi Beach with the former West Tigers captain.
As for why Woods was at the beach in the wee hours of a winter morning and not, I dunno, keeping his crotch warm, the athlete had earlier made a bet with Stefanovic to do a nudie run if New South Wales lost game two of the State of Origin.
Spoiler alert; they did, which was a grievance not only for legions of Blues fans but for every beach-bound jogger who just wanted to hit their 3k without copping such a sight.

Anyway, Woods held up his end of the bet as he was seen stripping to his birthday suit and bolting towards the water, promptly diving into the surf and sending a vicarious shiver down my spine (amongst other things).
The bare butt moment was met with laughter from Stefanovic, Abo and Mason, but perhaps even they weren’t prepared for when Woods decided to turn around in the ocean and give viewers a morning news exclusive: his uncensored junk (Jason Isaacs is quaking).

“No! Don’t show it!,” Abo (understably) said, while Mason quipped that it was “the smallest sporting event I’ve seen”.
Hey, it’s cold in there, cut him some slack!
Towards the end of the segment, Mason said she hopes to “get a Logie for this”, but I’d argue she’s also deserving of a pay rise and a Walkley Award for Excellence in Journalism.
The groundwork for Woods’ full-frontal stunt was laid earlier this week, when he accepted Stefanovic’s bet and, during a segment on Triple M Breakfast’s Beau, Cat and Woodsy show, invited NSW Premier Chris Minns to join him in his nudie run.

“No, it’s highly illegal,” Minns replied, informing Woods that he “could get arrested”.
The NRL star was not arrested this morning, though many viewers and onlookers might’ve thought the stunt was a crime against proper morning etiquette.
