Amy Hart pregnant - How she became Love Island hero and what happened to Curtis?

Love Island’s Amy Hart, who has just announced she has a baby on the way, has come on leaps and bounds since her time in the ITV2 villa in 2019.

She won the hearts of the nation after being savagely dumped by dancer Curtis Pritchard – causing her to leave the show for the sake of her mental health.

Amy and Curtis were already 'half-boyfriend and half-girlfriend' as Casa Amor came around and she was ready to drop the L-bomb.

She was devastated to find out that Curtis had been cracking on with newbie Jourdan Riane.

Curtis harshly admitted during the recoupling that he didn't really fancy Amy or see a future with her, revealing he wanted to recouple with Jourdan.

"I thought I’d met my first love and ‘the one’ and it turns out I haven’t. I’m someone’s back-up plan yet again,” she sobbed at the time.

"I wouldn’t have ever looked at anyone else. He was my future and now I have nothing and he’s taken that away from me."

The star lost 6lbs in a matter of days and said producers stepped in to force her to eat. She also left the villa to undergo 12 therapy sessions before walking out for the sake of her mental health when Curtis and Maura Higgins hit it off.

She has since started a new life working in theatre and has finally met the love of her life, outside of the hit-ITV dating show.

Amy went public with entrepreneur Sam Rason in August last year and has since revealed her plans to tie the knot with her beau.

Now 30-years-old, Amy decided to freeze her eggs when she was 28 after learning from a fertility MOT that her reserves were low for her age, and she could be at risk of early menopause.

Speaking previously about her plans to become a mum, she told OK!: "Once you have children, all your priorities change."

She’d originally made plans to start IVF on her own before she met Sam.

The former air stewardess shared a further health update just last month after having a biopsy.

She revealed that she had been diagnosed with a positive HPV result back in May and told how she would need further tests.

Amy said: "Before I went in there, they told me that they would only do biopsies if they really, really had to."

"Surprise, surprise, they really, really had to take the biopsies and they said on the pictures that the cells do look quite high grade so [they'll] probably have to take them out and send them off for testing so I'll have to go back.

"So yeah, not great news but I'm really glad that I had all my smears on time. So if you're watching this thinking, 'Oh, I'm not sure.' Please, please go and book it."

She announced some amazing news on Loose Women (ITV)

Today on Loose Women, the reality telly favourite told how she and her new beau had taken their relationship to a whole new level and were now expecting a baby together.

Amy and Sam told the panel they are not finding out the little one's sex as she wants to keep one surprise for herself.

"I do surprises for everyone else but I ruin every one for me, so no we’re not finding out," she laughed.

The former Islander told how she's planning a home birth and a "sip and see" party after the baby is born instead of a baby shower.

"I don’t love a baby shower because if you’ve got a friend who’s trying for a baby, it makes them uncomfortable so they’ll have a sip and see party" – a gathering to welcome and celebrate a new baby.

As for Curtis, he finished the 2019 Love Island series in fourth place alongside Maura Higgins.

After the show, the two dated for a while but eventually called it quits after seven months when they accused each other of cheating.

Curtis has since spoken openly about dating men in the future.

“I’ve been with women and I’m with a woman now. You can never put a label on anything. It’s a cliché to say, but love is blind. I can never ever say what will happen in the future. I wouldn’t rule anything out,” he told The Sun.

He has since gone on to appear on several TV shows, including a cameo appearance alongside his brother AJ on Hollyoaks.
