Amid the search for writers and directors, Bloodborne producer says he's feeling "all the pressure in the world" to get the movie adaptation right: "Gamers need it"

Bloodborne.

JackSepticEye says he's putting "all the pressure in the world" on himself to deliver the best Bloodborne movie possible.

Speaking with RadioTimes Gaming at the BAFTA Games Awards, the Irish YouTuber described the FromSoftware title as his "favorite game ever made", as he also revealed that the team behind the adaptation will soon start searching for possible writers and directors.

"I'm just super excited that anything Bloodborne is being talked about or being mentioned again in 2026," JackSepticEye, whose real name is Seán William McLoughlin, told the publication. "Especially after people heard news of [PlayStation-owned developer] Bluepoint [Games] getting shut down, which is awful. And Sony saying they wanted to do a remake but FromSoft didn't really wanna do it 'cause they wanna do it themselves and different things like that. So now I'm like, 'Here, let's celebrate a win!'"

Set to be animated and boast an R-rated certificate, McLoughlin's Bloodborne movie will likely follow a Hunter protagonist, who's tasked with finding the source of a plague that's been turning the residents of Yharnam into vicious monsters. All while battling the beasties... As you might expect, it's super gory and a fascinating mix of Gothic locations and cosmic Lovecraftian horror, which goes so way to explaining why the cartoon won't be kid-friendly.

"It's terrifying," McLouglin, when asked if he's feel apprehensive about the task of reinventing the source material, added. "Part of me is like, 'I wanna do this 'cause it's my favorite game ever made and anything Bloodborne is a win and gamers wanted and need it. But at the same time, I'm like, 'Oh god, why did I do this to myself?' The fans are very passionate and very intense, [though] I think that's good. It keeps us focused. I'll try my absolute best and I think pull off something cool."
