DETROIT _ A Michigan family was escorted off an American Airlines plane Wednesday after passengers complained of body odor.
WPLG-TV in Florida reported that Yossi and Jennie Adler of Southfield and their 19-month-old daughter were boarding a plane at the Miami International Airport when they were escorted off. But Yossi Adler told the station that the family did not have body odor and urged the airline to reveal the actual reason behind the family's removal from the plane.
A statement from American Airlines officials to the Detroit Free Press stated, "The Adler family were asked to deplane last night after several passengers, along with our crew members, complained about their body odor. The family were provided hotel accommodations and meals, and rebooked on a flight to Detroit today."
The Adler family could not be reached for comment Thursday.
WPLG received confirmation via text message that the family boarded a plane Thursday morning.
The family's luggage was reportedly not taken off the plane. Yossi Adler told the station, "They have our car seat, stroller, everything."
