Amber Heard's lawyer Elaine Bredehoft wins internet's sympathy for 'trying' in Johnny Depp case; Twitterati say 'It's just hard to defend someone who is guilty'

Amber Heard may have found herself being declared 'guilty' in her ongoing case against ex-husband Johnny Depp, but her legal team, especially Attorney Elaine Bredehoft has won the sympathy of the internet.

In one of the many unusual reactions coming in from social media, Heard's legal team has found support on Twitter, even among those on team Depp. After another long week in court, many noticed Bredehoft appearing defeated by Depp's lawyer, Camille Vasquez's laser-focused cross-examination on Amber's last day on the stand.

Many pointed out the lawyer's frustration as Vasquez constantly objected to questions put forth by Bredehoft to Heard, most of which the judge sustained.

Bredehoft also seemingly acknowledged the difficulty in asking questions without objection. "I'm trying, I'm trying" she says in a video that has since gone viral online.

According to TMZ, Amber left the courtroom in a hurry and 'seemed pissed' after she was allowed to leave the stand.

The report also claims that unconfirmed rumours from the courtroom state that Heard's team have gotten into "squabbles and shouting matches" in court when the cameras were not rolling. Some reports even claimed that Elaine even broke down.

A number of apparent Depp supporters have even taken to social media to lend their support to Elaine, suggesting that she's got an uphill battle as well as a not-so-easy-to-defend client.

"Okay don’t take me out. I feel like #ElaineBredehoft and her team are fighting hard to do their best job for a VERY difficult client with Very narcissistic behaviour patterns. Team doing their best, probably exhausted," read a tweet.

Another added, "Can I give a shout out for #ElaineBredehoft. There were reports she was crying in the courtroom the other day. It would be hard to defend someone as vile as #AmberHeard. She’s just doing her job. Be nice to #Elaine."

According to Deadline, a source close to Depp's legal team confirmed that the actor will almost certainly take the stand first thing next week.

After last appearing on the stand, in the Virginia-set trial over two weeks ago, the former 'Pirates of the Caribbean' will be called by the defence as a third witness on Monday. He will follow an anatomy expert and an IPV expert in what is the last week of the trial, reported the outlet.

As per the report, Judge Penny Azcarte has said that she wants closing arguments to occur on May 27.

Depp has sued Heard for USD 50 million in defamation after she alluded to their alleged abusive relationship in an op-ed written for The Washington Post.
