Amazon slash £46 off its Echo Dot speaker if you do this at checkout

Many avid Amazon shoppers would think the chances of getting an Echo Dot for less than a tenner was impossible, but not today as the retailer has offered its device for just £8.99. The offer has landed ahead of its 2023 Prime Day sale and is available to anyone who does a specific thing at checkout.

It's one of the many money-saving offers to launch ahead of the retailer's annual Prime Day sale, which has been confirmed to run this July 11 and July 12. It's proof not all deals are reserved until then as it slashes £46 off its Echo Dot speaker.

This means shoppers can now pick up a 5th Generation Echo Dot for just £8.99, the Alexa-backed tech device usually costs £54.99 to buy. It's all thanks to Amazon's latest bundle deal, where shoppers buy two for £109.98. This slashes the price of the second device to under the £10 mark.

To get the device for just £8.99 shoppers have to apply a discount code at checkout, 'ECHODOT' which can be found for all shoppers on its site, regardless if you're a Prime member or not. Usually during its 'all-attention' sales, the bigger price drops are reserved for Prime members only, who subscribe and pay £8.99 a month, but that's not the case for this specific tech discount.

This specific deal is on the latest model from Amazon too, meaning shoppers can get its most up-to-date model for the cheapest price. The Echo Dot Generation model was released back in 2022 and whilst its design is the same as previous models it's packed with a range of new features.

The Alexa-controlled smart speaker can do its usual functions like telling the time, streaming music, setting timers and even controlling smart devices throughout your home, all aspects which have become well-known to the round Amazon devices. The 5th Generation product is set apart with its new temperature control feature which allows Alexa to tell users the temperature of their room and home.

Also new is the 'tap recognition', users can pause and play music by patting the device, along with the usual 'Alexa stop' command. The newest model also comes with improved audio, aimed for deeper bass, vibrant sounds and clearer vocals.
