Christmas may be coming to an end but Amazon is still in a festive mood, giving Prime members one last gift of 10 free PC games to claim throughout January.
Amazon Prime members are getting their monthly Prime Gaming drop, and the clear standout for January is Arcane Studios’ Dishonored 2 , that was originally released back in 2016 for PC, PS4 , and Xbox One . The critically acclaimed immersive sim is the closest thing we’ll ever see to a modern-day Thief game, along with the first Dishonored. And no, the awful Thief reboot doesn’t count.
Players take on the role of series protagonist Corvo Attano, and his daughter Empress Emily Kaldwin, to attempt to reclaim the throne after Emily is deposed by the witch Delilah Copperspoon. Queue a dozen or so hours of sneaking or stabbing using a whole host of supernatural powers in your quest to become the most peaceful or violent revolutionary in the Mediterranean-styled steam-punk world of Karnaca.
A master class in non-linear design, with gameplay that allows you to either sneak along the rooftops and keep to the shadows while trying to avoid guards, or storm the metaphorical bastille while cutting a bloody swathe through anyone foolish enough to get in your way. Either way, it is an absolute riot, with two characters to play as, and multiple endings to unlock, depending on how brutal you decide to be. If you haven’t checked out Dishonored 2 yet, now is a perfect time.
